To my fellow Lions of Georgia:

Well, the word has come down from the Executive Officers of Lions Clubs International, and the word is good! Donna and I have been named as the endorsed candidate for the office of 3rd International

Vice President to run in Chicago in 2017!!   We are both humbled and honored to have been selected.

Of course, as most of you know, this is just the beginning of the journey for the Lions of Georgia and for Donna and I. We are so humbled by your outpouring of good wishes, compliments, and friendship over the past 38 years of Lionism, words cannot adequately express our gratitude!

It is now time for the real work of campaigning to begin. As Past President Jim Ervin has often said, we now have a shared opportunity and a shared responsibility: we must show the world Georgia’s dedication to our Clubs, our State, and to our great Association!

Georgia is so fortunate to have had the continuing leadership of our Past President Jim, and all of our Past International Directors. I know that their legacy of service and leadership will never be surpassed, but I promise that I will do my best to meet the high standards of our Georgia Lions!

I will be forming a campaign team over the next few weeks that will help to organize all of the opportunities and responsibilities that I spoke of earlier. However, it is my hope that ALL of the Lions of Georgia will become involved and travel to Chicago next year not only for the election, but to help celebrate our Centennial of Lionism!

In closing, please understand that I know why that I am in this position. It is because of you—-The Lions of Georgia, who have worked so diligently and proudly over the past 100 years. You are the workers in your communities and towns. You are what makes Lions International “Relevant.” Thank you for your friendship, your dedication, and your willingness to serve. God Bless you all.
