November is Diabetes Awareness Month and there are many things you can do to become aware and active.  Lions International offers many ideas from their website.  However, we have our own healthy coach, Patty White, who has been busy at work helping us think about ways to get healthy.

Patty White and Michele Benoit have created an easy plan called “Log Your Laps”. Log Your Laps is a walking activity at the two YMCA locations in Cobb County.

The locations are indoors, easy to access, and safe for walkers. You can walk at your own speed for a long walk or a short one.  This is ideal whether you are a regular walker or just starting back on a journey to better health.

Posters are in place at both sites for walkers to log their laps done on the walking track during the month. It’s easy and it’s healthy! If this program is successful, posters will be placed at other locations.
