Good evening, fellow Lions!
I wanted to share something with you from our teacher of the visually impaired here in Pickens County. There is a link to a YouTube video of one of her students you need to be sure to watch — Charlee is quite accomplished at reading Braille….she’s even won some competitions!
This Saturday is White Cane Day! White Cane Day was started in 1964 to celebrate the independence that people who are blind and visually impaired have gained. Please celebrate with Charlee, Robin, James, and me tomorrow. I have attached a brief video of Charlee talking about White Cane Day. The link below is to a short cute song that a teacher and students wrote for White Cane Day last year. I hope that you can take time to share the video and song with your classes tomorrow.
I would also like to thank you all for helping me help Charlee to become independent during her years at HCES. You are all amazing to work with!
